How it works
Four steps,one theme.
Each edition runs for about three months, from the day entries open to the day winners are announced.
01 · The steps
From sign-upto results.
Step 1
Register
Adults aged 18 to 30 register themselves. Young people aged 12 to 17 register, and a parent or guardian confirms by email. A parent or guardian enters on behalf of a child aged 5 to 11.
Step 2
Make your entry
Choose a category, tell us about your work and upload it. You can save a draft and come back to it.
Step 3
Pay the entry fee
USD 2 by card, or BDT 100 through bKash, Nagad or a local card, per entry. Entry is free with a waiver code from one of our school or community partners.
Step 4
Judging and results
After entries close, every entry is checked, then a shortlist goes to an independent jury. Results are announced when the next edition opens.
02 · Timeline
What happensafter entries close.
3 weeks
Judging
Screeners check eligibility and consent, then about one in ten entries in each category and age group goes to the jury.
2 weeks
Verification
Winners confirm their age, that the work is their own, and any consents. Parents or guardians do this for under 18s.
Next edition opens
Results
Winners are announced on the day the next edition opens. Edition 01 results are due on 1 March 2027.
03 · Judging
How the jurydecides.
Jurors score shortlisted work without seeing who made it. They never see a name, school, city or file name, and they score before they see anyone else's marks.
The weights below are the current ones. They differ by age group, because craft counts for more as makers grow.
| Criterion | Node | Ray | Orbit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Idea and originality | 40% | 35% | 30% |
| Craft | 20% | 30% | 35% |
| Story and voice | 40% | 25% | 15% |
| EffectivenessThe Brief only | 0% | 10% | 20% |
For Art & Craft and Photography, the Effectiveness weight is shared equally across the other criteria.
